Vehicle Key Support for Chicago Repair and Body Shops
Omega Locksmith helps authorized Chicago auto repair shops, collision centers and body shops resolve vehicle key, fob, ignition-lock and access problems that can delay diagnostics, movement through the shop or customer delivery.
We evaluate each vehicle from its year, make, model, VIN, security system and current key status. Depending on the vehicle and job conditions, service may be completed at the repair facility or at Omega’s storefront at 4346 W. 51st St.

When a Key Problem Holds Up a Repair Order
- No working key arrived with the vehicle
- A damaged key will not operate reliably
- The vehicle is locked and cannot be accessed
- A compatible fob needs programming
- A second key is requested before delivery
- The vehicle cannot be moved between work areas
- The ignition lock will not turn normally
- Key compatibility must be confirmed before programming
This service is designed around vehicles already in a repair or collision workflow. Dealership inventory should use Omega’s dealer key services, while companies managing active work vehicles should use our fleet locksmith service.
What to Send Before Scheduling
A complete request helps Omega check vehicle coverage, part compatibility and authorization before a technician is dispatched or the vehicle is transported. Please provide:
- Full VIN, year, make and model
- Repair-order or purchase-order number
- Repair-facility name, address and on-site contact
- Whether any working key or fob is present
- The exact symptom and requested result
- Photos of the existing key, fob, ignition or relevant damage when useful
- Vehicle power condition and whether the battery can support programming
- Authorization from the shop, vehicle owner or responsible party as appropriate
How Repair-Shop Key Service Works
- Send the vehicle and repair-order details. Include the VIN, current key status, exact problem, vehicle location, photos and authorized contact.
- Confirm coverage and service location. Omega checks the vehicle system, compatible key or fob, required equipment and whether storefront or mobile service is appropriate.
- Approve the locksmith scope. The shop or responsible contact approves the quoted key, programming, entry or ignition-lock work before service begins.
- Complete and document the approved work. The technician verifies the vehicle and authorization, performs the supported service and records the vehicle or repair-order reference for billing.
Mobile Service or Storefront Service?
Some supported key and access jobs can be completed at a Chicago repair facility. The vehicle must be safely accessible, in a workable position and sufficiently powered for any required diagnostic or programming procedure. Weather, traffic, facility access, parts and technician availability affect scheduling.
Other situations are better handled at Omega’s shop. After reviewing the VIN, symptoms and vehicle condition, Omega will explain the available service option rather than promise that every procedure can be performed in the field.
Professional Key Programming and Security Procedures

Omega uses professional automotive locksmith equipment, including AD Smart Pro and Autel IM608 systems, for supported key programming and vehicle procedures.
When secure OEM key-code or security information is required and available, a NASTF VSP-credentialed technician follows the applicable identity and authorization process. Equipment and credentials do not make every vehicle or security generation serviceable; coverage is confirmed individually.

Clear Scope: Vehicle Keys, Locks and Access
Omega’s role is automotive locksmith work. We do not perform collision repair, bodywork, paint, airbag reset or crash-module repair. We also do not provide performance tuning or ECU remapping, BMW FRM repair, Mercedes ELV repair or Saab steering-lock bypass.
A vehicle that does not recognize a key may have a key-related problem, but it may also have low voltage, collision damage, module communication faults or unrelated mechanical and electrical conditions. Omega will define the supported locksmith work and will not represent unrelated automotive repairs as key programming.
Repair-Shop Accounts, Purchase Orders and Billing
Qualified repair businesses may apply for a commercial account. New accounts are card-on-file or due upon receipt during the initial period. Net-15 or Net-30 terms are available only after written credit approval.
Approved accounts may use per-job invoices or consolidated weekly invoicing, depending on the agreed setup. Accepted business payment methods can include ACH/EFT, corporate card, wire or check. Each request should identify the repair order, purchase order or vehicle reference the shop needs on its records.
Vehicle Coverage and Service Limitations
Coverage depends on the exact year, make, model, key system, installed modules, software, required security access and compatible replacement parts. Certain Volkswagen and Audi Immo4/FAZIT situations require a dealer or manufacturer process. Other vehicles may also require procedures or components Omega cannot provide.
Response and completion timing vary by location, traffic, weather, vehicle condition, authorization, parts and the required procedure. Omega does not promise a fixed arrival time or claim support for every vehicle.

Repair and Body Shop Locksmith FAQs
Can Omega make a key for a vehicle that arrived at our shop without one?
For supported vehicles, yes, after the VIN, vehicle system and authorization are verified. Service depends on compatible parts, required security information, vehicle condition and the current procedure.
Can you program a customer-supplied key or fob?
Omega must verify that the part is correct and compatible before programming. A similar-looking key or fob may use the wrong frequency, transponder, part number or security generation.
Can the work be completed at our repair facility?
Some supported jobs can be completed on site when the vehicle is safely accessible, sufficiently powered and in a workable condition. Omega confirms mobile or storefront service after reviewing the request.
What authorization does a body shop need to provide?
Provide the repair-facility details, an authorized contact, the repair or purchase order, vehicle information and authorization from the owner or responsible party as appropriate. Additional verification may be required for protected security information.
Does Omega diagnose collision modules or reset airbags?
No. Omega’s scope is supported vehicle keys, fobs, locks, authorized entry and related ignition-lock work. We do not perform body repair, airbag reset, crash-module repair or unrelated automotive diagnostics.
Can Omega service every vehicle make and model?
No. Coverage depends on the vehicle and security system. Certain Volkswagen and Audi Immo4/FAZIT cases require a dealer or manufacturer process, and other unsupported systems may have similar limitations.
