Avondale was the site of one of Chicago’s “Seven Lost Wonders”, the Olson Park and Waterfall complex at Diversey and Pulaski. It was the busiest park in Avondale and known all over Chicago. It was built by the owner of Olson Rug Company. Originally, when it was opened, its deed was handed over to the Native Americans. But after the depression, it was closed. Today, it is a parking lot. However, the place still serves as a notable landmark in Avondale.
